Thailand scuba diving trips run from Phuket on the west coast of Thailand to experience the best of the amazing diving in the Andaman sea.
Phuk

et liveaboard diving, called so due to the fact a great deal of the boats leave from Phuket, journey
either to the Similan islands, Koh bon and Richelieu rock or to the South for Hin Daeng and Koh Phi Phi diving trips.
Scuba diving in Thailand is undoubtedly the best on the west coast as there is greater coral life and alot more spectacular and varied marine life t

han the better known east coast.
Thailand liveaboard diving is a very popular and the quality of boats vary greatly from small wooden boats and sailing boats to larger motor yachts with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning..
The prices for scuba diving in Thailand also vary greatly but you generally get what you pay for and so if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Thailand liveaboards of a decent s

tandard are normally around 150 -200 Euros a day for a deluxe cabin and en-suite bathroom.
Thailand diving is also done in the south and Hin Daeng liveaboard trips are becoming increasingly popular as a weekend getaway or an add on to the more northern Similan islands liveaboard.
Hin Daeng liveaboards also includes diving in Koh Phi Phi and also some Koh Ha diving featuring some unusual macro and great cave diving at Koh Ha.
Koh Phi Phi liveaboards are a great experience as you g

et to dive Koh Phi Phi when all the daily divers have gone home.
Summary:
Diving in Thailand is done to two main destinations and mainly the boats go to the diving from Phuket island on the west coast.
Similan islands liveaboards generally last 4-5 days and also visit the more northern islands past the Similans to dive Richelieu rock and see the mantas at Koh Bon.
The south Andaman sea trips are Hin Daeng liveaboards including diving Koh Phi Phi and also Koh Ha along the way, these nornally last 2-3 days.
The two trips can be put together to make a week long Andaman sea safari visiting both destinations.
Komodo diving
is undoubtedly some of the best diving in the world purely for it's variety of life, mixtures of terrain and the added bonus of the Komodo dragon excursions.
Komodo diving trips leave from Bali or Flores on a 7-9 day and night trip diving in Sumbawa and the other northern islands along the way to the Komodo national park. North of Sumbawa diving is awesome an

d remote and rarely do you encounter any other boats or divers.
Komodo scuba diving offers the best of both worlds, one of the planets best macro sites exists in Komodo and along with the large manta aggregations it should keep you happy whether you are a macro lover or a big fish connoisseur.
Di

ving in Rinca is the place to experience the best macro diving in Komodo. Blue ringed octopus, Lacy and weedy Rhinopias, Coleman shrimp, zebra crabs, pygmy seahorses, frogfish and much more are all possible dur

ing the stunning Rinca diving part of the trip at Cannibal rock.
There are also other ways to experience diving in the Komodo area. Some liveaboards leave from Maumere in Flores for a stunning trip to Alor and other islands north of Flores. The choice is yours, whether you choose to join your liveaboard in Flores or take a liveaboard from Bali to Komodo and do more diving in Sumbawa it's up to you, one thing is for sure diving around Komodo and Flores is fantastic and my personal favourite destination in the world.
The only wa

y to really experience
Burma diving is to join a Burma liveaboard leaving from

Thailand, trips are anywhere from a week to 10 days long.
Adventurous and exciting Burma's Mergui archipelago hosts over 800 small islands that are home to the Moken, sea gypsies, that travel the seas for weeks at a time fishing during the day and camping one of the many islands for the night.
The mangrove swamps are home to nurseries of small fishes and a large variety of wildlife including monkeys, wild pigs and many different birds such as kingfishers and Brahmini kites.
Potentially q

uite daunting Burma diving has been made very simple and hassle free.
The dive boats visiting this area are Thailand liveaboards from Phuket leaving either from Ranong, north of Phuket, or from Phuket on Thailand's west coast. Travelling first to dive the stunning Similan islands in Thail

and before moving ever further northwards towards the border crossing into Burma and a further 6 days diving in Burma..
Burma scuba diving offers great macro oportunities and occasional visits from some of the oceans larger animals such as mantas, rays, sharks and whale sharks.
The beaches are deserted and the vistas amazing - diving in Burma makes you feel that you are in a land that time forgot.
