Cannibal rock pictures and dive site description - Komodo liveaboard diving.
|
Site : Cannibal rock
Location : Rinca island, part of the Komodo national park in Indonesia
Description : Arguably one of the best macro sites on the planet. Not in the mainstream due to the effort of getting there as , you can only get there on a Komodo liveaboard, has kept the site pristine and un-crowded. Unbelievable amounts of rare nudibranchs fight for space on the rock with the thousands of multicoloured featherstars and unusual sea apples that hide juvenile painted frogfish and ghost pipefish. Adult frogfish swim around the rock that hosts such surprises as pygmy seahorses, pregnant zebra crabs, Rhinopias, dopy hawksbill turtles, blue ringed octopus and some of the most prolific and colourful corals I have ever seen.
AT A GLANCE :
Why : Rare and unusual nudibranchs, blue ringed octopus, Rhinopias, pygmy seahorses and other macro wonders plus the added rush of having Komodo dragons basking in the sun on the beach next to the boat.
Pack your bags : Fly to Indonesia (Bali) and take a Komodo liveaboard or fly to Flores for a trip to the Komodo national park.
When : All year round |
